The Ohio Revised Code, now requires all 7th grade students to have had a booster of their DTaP vaccine, effective this school year.  The vaccine must have been given after the student's 10th birthday. Parents must show proof of the student having recieved the vaccine by the 15 day of the school year.  Proof must be provided to the Bloom Carroll Middle School office no later that September 14, 2010, or your child may be excluded from school.  The Fairfield Department of Health has been holding DTaP clinics to assist families with meeting this requirement.  For information on upcoming clinics please contact the Health Department at 653-4489 or www.myfdh.org.

The next available clinics are:

 August 31, 2010 from 3:00PM - 7:00 PM,

September 11. 2010, from 9:00AM- 11:00AM

These clinics will be located at Ohio University-Lancaster, on Granville Pike in Lancaster.

Public Safety Emergency Response Drill

The Bloom-Carroll Local School District, in conjunction with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, and Greenfield Twp. Fire Dept., will be conducting a Public Safety Emergency Response Drill on school grounds.Emergency response equipment and personnel may be seen in the area conducting law enforcement and rescue procedures.This notice is intended to inform area residents of the drill to avoid panic or undue alarm. Signs will be posted during the event.Should you have any questions, please call the school office at (614) 837-6560.

Classes for Bloom-Carroll High School begin on Wednesday, August 25.  Start time is 7:30 am, and end time is 2:10 pm.  Homerooms will be posted on Wednesday, August 18 . All students will report to their homeroom for the first five days of school to begin their day.  Schedules, forms, class fee lists, etc. will be distributed on the first day.  Forms are to be returned during the first five days.  There is freshmen and new student orientation scheduled for Wednesday, August 18. Two sessions will be offered: 9:00 am-11:00 am, and 6:00 pm-8:00 pm - both meetings will take place in the high school cafeteria, and you may attend either session.  Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, September 15 from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm.  Parents will follow their students' schedules on that night to meet the teacher and learn their expectations for each class.  If you have questions/concerns, please call the high school office at 740/756-4317 or 614/837-0786.

All students that have submitted a Transportation Request form for the 2010/2011 school year, will receive a phone call with bus information.  Calls will begin on Friday 8/13/2010.  If you do not receive a call by Wednesday 8/19/2010, please call the Transportation Office at 614-834-6706 or 614-834-6709.

Open House - The Bloom Carroll Intermediate School Open House will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010. Students and parents should meet in the gym for staff introductions and a short informational presentation by  Ms. Freeman. Then you will be dismissed to go to your classrooms to meet the teachers and learn about the upcoming school year. We will follow the schedule below.

Third Grade - 6:45-7:15

Fourth Grade - 7:15-7:45

Fifth Grade - 7:45-8:15
